Philippi Music Project is a social entreprise aiming at offering an infrastructure to the musicians from the townships of Cape Town.
We believe that Music has an amazing power to attract, develop and enhance creativity in local communities, and can be used to connect people together to foster capacity learnings and personal development for young people from the townships.

Our Studio
A fully furnished professional recording studio in the heart of Philippi
A container turned into...
The PMP Studio is built in a shipping container. The construction started in January 2017 and took 6 months. In June 2017, we inaugurated a fully soundproofed recording studio, composed of a monitoring room, a vocal booth, a classroom space and the office of the PMP team

Our Team
Sibusiso Nyamakazi
co-founder and executive manager
Sibusiso Nyamakazi is a 24 year old writer, MC and Musician involved in several social upliftment projects in and around his community, Philippi.
He studied Management at CPUT and is a facilitator of social and youth development workshops. He runs alongside his team of founders and poets a social conscious poetry movement called "social poetics" using poetry as a tool to facilitate healthy dialogues in society.
Baptiste Guillemet
co-founder and manager
Baptiste Guillemet is a French entrepreneur, music producer and
festival organizer. He has worked for 2 years as a business consultant in cultural industries in Paris. He has a Master degree of Science in Management from the
ESSEC Business School and studied entrepreneurship and social innovation at the UCT Graduate School of Business in Cape Town.
Ludwig Peter
fundraising & partnerships
Ludwig Peter, is a 29 year old teacher, DJ and event organiser from Germany. He studied English literature and language, teaching, sociology and politics at University of Augsburg/Germany and University of Cape Town. He has been rooted in the music event organizing business for six years now and is taking care of the growing network.
Lena Posch
Creative director
Lena Astarte Posch studied Multimedia in Germany and photography in Istanbul, while exploring different realities and perspectives. She works as an artist, entrepreneur and graphic designer in different parts of the world with a focus on global social and political issues and relations. Working for the Philippi Music Project as a creative director combines her passion for social innovation, art and music.
